Picking the best cabin on the Royal Caribbean - Majesty of the Seas

Before selecting the type of cabin you will need for your Royal Caribbean – Majesty of the Seas cruise, it is helpful to have some information about the staterooms and suites available. All Cabins onboard are smaller than cabins found on other Royal Caribbean ships. Interior Staterooms measure 114 square feet. Superior Ocean View Staterooms are 155 square feet, and standard Ocean View rooms are 120 square feet. Cabins in the Suite/Deluxe category are more spacious and they have the added feature of balconies. Junior Suites are the smallest of the suites at 221 square feet with 61 square feet balconies. Guests can also choose from Owner’s, Royal Family, and Grand Suites. The largest cabin onboard is the Royal Suite measuring 700 square feet with a 147 square foot balcony. Wheelchair accessible rooms are found in the Outside and Interior categories. These rooms are larger, and they include a roll in shower with benches, hand rails, and a hand held shower head.

Bedding

All of the Royal Caribbean ships have exceptional bedding and linens. Each bed will have a covered duvet and exclusive pillows. All sheets are 300 count, and the flat sheet is embellished with the Royal Caribbean crown logo. Egyptian cotton is used in the construction of each sheet fitted sheet and pillow cases. The Royal mattresses come in two comfortable styles, covered in memory top or pillow top mattress pads.

Bed Size

Staterooms and suites onboard the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas will have king beds, queen beds, or twin beds, the latter of which can be converted into one larger bed size such as a queen. Sofa beds are also used in many suites providing additional sleep areas. Wheelchair accessible rooms come with an open frame bed that is lower than average

Staterooms and Suites on the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas are located on nine decks.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Two (2)

Guests should take note when booking a cabin on Deck Two that all exterior staterooms have portholes instead of standard windows. Rooms 2620 - 2646 and 2120 - 2146 are located nearest the propellers and may pick up noise and vibrations. Noise may be an issue in cabins 2620 - 2646 and 2120 - 2146, as these are under the main dining area. Along with regular noises during meals, guest may hear the staff preparing before meals and cleaning up after everyone has eaten. Of these cabins, 2623 - 2645 and 2123 - 2145 will be the loudest. Stateroom 2507 and 2007 are larger wheelchair accessible cabins.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Three (3)

All exterior staterooms on Deck Three also have portholes rather than a standard window. Cabins on this deck are quiet. The only exception would be staterooms 3616 and 3116. These two cabins are nearest the dining area.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Four (4)

All of Deck Four’s staterooms are located from midship to forward placing them both above and below other staterooms minimizing any noise. Stateroom 4098 may pick up some noise from the nearby public restroom, while rooms 4591 and 4091 are near the main staircase. This can be convenient for guests, but they may hear more noise from foot traffic than in other cabins.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Five (5)

This is the ideal location for guests who wish to be close to the casino, bar, shops, or lounge. With other cabins overhead and underneath, staterooms on this deck are fairly quiet. The exceptions would be staterooms 5595 - 5095. These are near the main staircase. Stateroom 5598 is next door to the Latte-tudes coffee shop. Noise is not an issue when the shop is closed. The same is true for room 5098, which is beside the liquor store.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Six (6)

Staterooms 6593 - 6093 are near the main staircase. Other than those rooms, cabins on Deck Six are quiet. Staterooms are located far from public areas, and they are surrounded by other cabins. Staterooms 6002 - 6004have obstructed views.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Seven (7)

All exterior staterooms have views obstructed by a walking deck so you will need to keep the curtains drawn to keep guests outside from peeking in. Room 7547 is the smallest of the nine inside cabins. Inside cabins are not wedged together as in other Royal Caribbean ships, creating a more spacious feel. The oddly shaped Ocean View Staterooms 7504 and 7004 have more space than average for their category.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Eight (8)

All outside staterooms on Deck Eight will have obstructed views by lifeboats. Cabins 8596 and 8096 are nearest the public restrooms. Staterooms 8538 and 8038 are next to the elevators and may pick up additional noise. Cabins 8572 - 8588 and 8072 - 8088 are above the lounge. Guests may hear the dance music well into the late night hours.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Nine (9)

Superior Ocean View Staterooms on Deck Nine are 35 square feet larger than normal Ocean View Staterooms on other decks. Staterooms on this deck also have obstructed views by lifeboats. Cabins 9582 and 9082 are located near the public restrooms, while cabins 9536 and 9036 are by the elevators. Both staterooms 9534 and 9034 are wheelchair accessible cabins.

Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Deck Ten (10)

There are no interior cabins on Deck Ten. It is also the only deck that has balconies available with the cabins. Rooms 1549 - 1588 and 1050 - 1088 are Junior and Royal Family Suites located under the pool. Guests may hear noise from the cleaning crews during the night. Room 1549 is the only Royal Family Suite onboard the Majesty of the Seas. It is sought after for its 371 square feet of space and the largest balcony to be found on the ship. The only down side is that it is one of the cabins directly under the pool area. Junior Suites 1550 and 1050 are next door to elevators. Across the hall are Junior Suites 1588 and 1088. These are closest to the children’s programs. Guests may hear daytime noise but the youth activities do not run during the nighttime hours.
